Polar FS2C Heart Rate Monitors Black

works great5

My husband bought this unit almost a year ago when another brand he was using quit working. this has been working great for him. I started using it a few weeks ago and have been please with it's performance. The strap is comfortable and the monitor is fairly acurate and easy to read. It is nice to have your heart rate displayed constantly without having to stop and push a button. So far it is wearing very well. Nothing is broken and after a year it is still displaying the correct heart rate. The other unit we bought earlier was cheaper and died after just a year. The strap just needs a little water on it before straping it on like others of its kind. But once on it is not noticable at all. I have liked this so much that I am buying one for each of our daughters for Christmas this year.More detail ...

Polar F6 Women's Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Pink Coral)

*I Have a Geek Toy I Have a Geek Toy*5

Easy to set up accurate user friendly. Just took it for a test drive this morning. Shipping was fast and friendly. Nice user manual. Very explanatory.

Put in your vitals adjust the strap around your chest and put the pedal to the metal.

I burned 511 calories -- 45% from fat. For 49:51 minutes of work I spent 14:46 minutes in the 144-160 beats per minute range; with my heart rate topping out at 178 (93% of my maximum for the "moderate training zone"). My average heart rate was 151 for the duration (79% of my maximum). The alarm cued me when to step it up and also when to back it down so I could keep on a better training track.

Apparently I've been working too hard in the past. Because just as the HRM was yelling at me to back down I was thinking "Geez touchy thingie! I can go way harder and higher than this!" But if it improves my stamina all the better.

I would recommend reviewing the product manual and setting up your customizations the night before if you are an early morning exerciser. Setup and familiarization with the product/material takes about an hour.More detail ...

Omron HR-100C Heart Rate Monitor

Does exactly what I need it to do!5

Being a person who hasn't ever joined a gym I never knew stuff like this existed. I was very interested in this item because I've been walking for exercise but wasn't really sure I was reaching my target heart rate consistently.

The monitor which displays the time as well as your heart rate on a watch works in conjuction with a gizmo that you strap around yourself just under your chest. (I will tell you since I was concerned about this that it's hardly noticeable once it's in place...it's a 12" or so long piece of plastic with an adjustable elastic strap...not very bulky at all!) The monitor also features a stopwatch and an alarm so that after you set your minimum & maximum desired heart rates you can be alerted when you are out of range. The alarm is a "beep-beep" that I can hear over the book on tape I drag along with me. Your heart rate is updated every second or two so you will always know if you need to pick up the pace a bit.

Although I have not yet had to do so the chest strap has a removable backing and you apparently can change the battery yourself (this is a big deal I guess since some of the more expensive monitors require that you send them to the factory for a battery change). The elastic strap is also completely removable which makes it very easy to wash (and you will need to if you're exercising!).

The monitor comes packaged in a small zippered carrying case and includes an attachment that allows you to place it on a bicycle handlebar.

This does everything I need it to and I recommend it for anyone who is just getting started in an exercise program.More detail ...
